Enhancing Engineering Education through Distributed Virtual Reality
1 School of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, GA, 30332-0355 Abstract – Visual interaction can greatly change the way engineering is performed, both in learning new materials and in terms of explaining activities between practicing professionals. This paper presents a study to develop and assess Distributed Virtual Reality (DVR) for Engineering Educa...
متن کاملDevelopment of Virtual Reality Tool for Creative Learning in Architectural Education
One of the challenging tasks in engineering education is to bridge the gaps between imagination and real time problems of different engineering areas. The virtual reality (VR) can reduce this gap and also provides clear ideas on the basis of real time problems. The architectural education influenced and goes hand in hands for meeting these crucial challenges using advancements in computer techn...
متن کاملThe Application of Virtual Reality to Chemical Engineering and Education
Three major educational modules have been produced, as well as a number of smaller modules. The major modules include Vicher I, dealing with industrial methods of handling the decay of catalysts and heterogeneous catalytic mechanisms, Vicher II, dealing with non-isothermal effects in catalytic reactions, and Safety, which allows students to walk through a chemical pilot plant to evaluate the ha...
متن کاملOn the Design of Virtual Reality Learning Environments in Engineering
Currently, the use of virtual reality (VR) is being widely applied in different fields, especially in computer science, engineering, and medicine. Concretely, the engineering applications based on VR cover approximately one half of the total number of VR resources (considering the research works published up to last year, 2016). In this paper, the capabilities of different computational softwar...
